Although it would be very interesting to enable the American people to know all of the government's secrets I still feel that the government has many secrets pertaining to national security that are completely necessary to keep secret. Many policies and plans that our government keeps from us are not because of shady intentions but because simply if this information were to escape into the wrong hands, It could mean terrible things for our country. These questions are far too harsh to even suspect our president of doing something illegal. WE elected this man on the premise that we will support his actions and decisions and trust that he constantly has our country's best interest and safety in mind.

Yes and there are many secrets kept by the American government specifically because they are shady. Abu Gharib is a prime example and the history of abuse there especially how long these "incidents" were going on should prove that. If it took a long time to expose that secret what other horrible things are people doing in the name of American government. The president is not the government. He is part of a branch of government set up to regulate the other branches. Regulation is the problem because once a blind eye is turn to what some in the government are doing there is no telling how much they can get away with
ReplyDeletei agree with you clay, these secrets are secrets to protect us. if heard by the wrong person, a lot of destruction could occur. but also not knowing the secrets may lead to the people to feel left out and in a way betrayed because we live here, we should know whats going on.
ReplyDeletei agree with you that the government isn't trying to be shady, they just have the country's best interest at heart.
ReplyDeleteI agree, information is a powerful thing especially in the wrong hands. However, we have to be able to trust the people in charge not to abuse this position and keep too many secrets that can affect the public.
ReplyDeleteYeah i also agree that issues pertaining to national security should be kept secret because if they were to get into the wrong hands it could lead to major problems for our country.
